Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a blender or food processor.

Add the unsweetened cocoa powder, almond milk, applesauce, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and sea salt to the blender. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Taste the mousse and, if needed, add a bit more honey or maple syrup for extra sweetness, but keep it minimal to maintain a low carb count.
Transfer the mousse into individual serving cups or bowls. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set and let the flavours meld.
Garnish with fresh berries, or shaved dark chocolate, if desired.
